Greg is a trial lawyer and has been practicing law in the Tri-State area since 1993. He is a product of Cincinnati Ohio, growing up in Bond Hill and attending Walnut Hills High School. Prior to becoming a lawyer he worked in a meat packing plant and the restaurant industry. He knows what it is like to work 12 hours of hard sweaty labor. His practice is primarily focused on criminal defense trial work in State and Federal Court but he also does criminal appeals work. Approximately 2% of his practice deals with business law.

Greg is passionate about his defense of clients and fights to win every time he steps into a court room. He brings years of skill and experience to every case. Greg has tried over 100 jury trials in two states, hundreds of trials to the Court and effective negotiations in hundreds of other cases. He doesn’t keep a win loss sheet because that tally is irrelevant. Each case has its own unique qualities that determine the chances of success or failure. Although the law is a business, Greg takes a more personal approach showing genuine concern for his client’s well being. He will be honest and forthcoming with his client so the client appears in Court with a full understanding of the defense that we will put forward.

Negotiation is the last option. Some criminal defense lawyers are way too eager to negotiate a plea. Greg will file for discovery, file all necessary pretrial motions, and aggressively use all means available to build the strongest and most persuasive case possible designed to preserve his client’s freedom. He will only negotiate a plea when it is the most realistic option and best for the client, and then, only at the direction of and in the best interest of his client.

Mission Statement

TO BE THE SHIELD THAT PROTECTS HIS CLIENT FROM THE POWER OF THE STATE AND THE SWORD TO BATTLE THOSE WHO WOULD HURT HIS CLIENT

Greg Cohen has committed his entire career to protecting his clients in both State and Federal Courts. He treats each client as a valued individual who is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Greg also sees beyond the facts of a case where an individual is ready to admit his guilt and wants the best resolution possible. He does this by looking at the story of a client’s life and experiences and translating that into an explanation of why he or she did not commit the offense alleged or what led to the misconduct resulting a criminal charge. He has never been intimidated by the Courts, the prosecution, the police or the neighborhoods of southwestern Ohio where he has investigated his cases at any hour of the day or night required.

Greg will treat every case like it is his most important case because it is his client’s most important case. He will stand up to the system and fight for his client each time he walks into court. Greg will not make false promises and he will be brutally honest. A client has the right to hear the bad with the good and understand the consequences of the fight. When the dust settles the client will know that his or her lawyer did everything he could to protect them from the power of the Government.
